One of the responsibilities and opportunities of being a cooperative member is attending the Annual Meeting. Guernsey Muskingum Electric works hard to provide not only the Official Meeting, but also a morning of fun and education for the entire family. Complete with a light lunch and a small appreciation gift, the Annual Meeting has become as much of a social event as business. Members talk with their neighbors, cooperative employees, directors and listen to live entertainment while eating a hot dog grilled by Guernsey Muskingum linemen. Displays and demonstrations are set up for members before the meeting comes to order at noon.
Since 1937, members have gathered to discuss the business of the Cooperative and to elect board members. The Annual Meeting of Members is held each March or April at the Larry W. Miller Intermediate School in New Concord. The purpose of the meeting is to inform all members of the financial and operating conditions of the Cooperative. At the meeting, you may exercise your right to elect members to serve on the Board of Directors and vote on amendments to the Cooperative's Code of Regulations.
